I have a 1989 Eunos Roadster (Mazda NA6 MX5 Turbo). The engine modifications include a Mitsubishi TD05H 14b turbo, Mazda Familia turbo injectors, intercooler, 2 1/2 ” free flow exhaust. It also has a plumb back blow off valve, 17×7 BSA wheels, upgraded brakes, Extreme heavy duty clutch, standard motor. The car makes 148 kW on 14 psi. All modifications legally approved by DTEI.
I live in Adelaide and when visiting my daughter and son in law in NSW I went to MX5 Mania to buy some parts. When I told them of my MX5 project they recommended Adaptronic ECU as a cheap and easy to tune plug and play item. I went home and researched via Google and later ordered over the phone.
My son-in-law bought a different plug and play ECU for his MX5 turbo and from that experience I realised the importance of buying a locally made ECU with good backup and help. The Adaptronic has a lot more features to refine the tune to make the car drive smooth and easy.
My favourite feature would have to be the fact that when I received my Adaptronic ECU with loom I just plugged it in and drove it to the tuner. I have found the Adaptronic team very helpful in assisting me to fine tune my car (the tuner certainly gave me my power tune but left the tune a bit rough in some places). The team have altered my files in areas the tuner didn’t look and now my car runs very sweet.
